Jim Halliday – Board President

Jim has an AA degree in Acting and Directing from Foothill College and a BA in Theatre Arts from Cal State San Jose. In addition to an extensive acting portfolio, Jim has designed sets and lighting and has a broad technical theatre background building sets and running lights and sound. He worked for several years as a media designer during which he taught classes at DeAnza College and produced film, video, and slide productions, as well as narrations and soundtracks.

In the ‘60s and ‘70s, Jim widely performed both theatre and music (piano, guitar, voice) in the US and Germany. In the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, as a direct result of his audio soundtracks and media work, Jim became heavily involved in working with blind people. He semi-retired in 2005 when he and his wife, Karen, purchased property in Newberg, OR. They moved to Oregon in 2007 and now enjoy full retirement at their small Pinot Noir vineyard on Ribbon Ridge.
